Secured foundation
The federal government and the Free State of Bavaria are providing the bulk of the money for the general renovation, 330 million euros each. This is the largest financial injection since the Deutsches Museum was founded in 1903. In 2011, a joint agreement between the Federal Ministry of Education and Research, the Bavarian Ministry of Science, Research and the Arts and the Deutsches Museum put the future initiative on a secure footing. The document was presented in the "Museum History" exhibition.
